Ladies what do you think of the term "hoodrat"?

Do you use the term? Do you think it's overused in general?

It's a terrible word, and I never use it. Lots of "hoodrats" are great people who weren't afforded the education or parental structure that many of us were lucky enough to have.

I grew up in the hood, I know hoodrats, I have hoodrat tendencies.

We all know what a hoodrat is if someone uses the word. Maybe because I don't have a negative connotation with the word, it doesn't bother me. I know a lot of hoodrats who are cool as hell.

If yall wanna educate me on why I should stop using the word, I'll listen.

I hate it, it's extremely demeaning
referring to someone as vermin because of their socioeconomic status is against my principles
