The gap between the Lakers and the rest of the West playoff teams (outside of the Rockets / Warriors) is smaller than the gap between the Lakers and the Kings / Mavs / Phoenix / Memphis. They've made significant progress this season, especially offensively, and I expect them to be a playoff team next season
well of course, they get Lebron and PG/Durant next year
