Why not the Lakers? We gonna be cap free in 2 years. Will still have flexibility next year after Nash is gone. We in a much better place then the Knicks. Plus we will have Randle and Paul Gasol. You telling me the Knicks have a better team then Kobe, Gasol, Randle, and Melo?

I mean wouldn't the only reason to leave that 129 Millie behind and go to another squad would be to contend NOW. A Lakers nucleus of Kobe, Melo, Randle, and Pau isn't built to win championships NOW in the West. If he's gonna take a cut wouldn't he go to Chicago or Houston where the chances are much better that he'd be contending right off the bat?
I don't understand how fools saying a team of Kobe, Melo, Pau, Randle, and role players can't compete. Kobe still a top 10 player in this league. if he's healthy, he's a top 5. nikkas sick if they think that squad is not top 5 in the West.

Gasol is almost guaranteed to come back if we sign Melo. That's why he's waiting. Gasol loves LA, and Kobe is one of his best friends/torturers. He'd rather stay in LA.

The Knicks are offering Melo 1.8 million more then the Lakers. Who is more likey to give him another deal? Clearly LA. Melo saw how LA gifted Kobe that retirement parachute. He knows the Knicks won't do that.
