It's lowkey a side-grade job, but nobody wants to talk about it :sas2:
Facts.

They've had more recent success since the turn of the century, but historically....not sure Ole Miss and LSU are all that different prior to 2000. Neither is "Blue Blood" status.

Louisiana has more in-state talent and less in-state competition for that talent. Flip side is expectations are 10x higher at LSU.

Win a ring or two at Ole Miss? Lane would have a statue built out front of the stadium. He'd have alcoholic beverages named after him, first born sons named after him, all the Tri-Delt puzzy on campus AND their socialite mommas (probably already got that).

At LSU...winning a ring, just means you're keeping up with Saban, Miles and Coach O. He'd have to do what Saban did at Bama or AT LEAST have a run like Osborne/Nebraska or Bowden/FSU.

The peak is high at LSU but it's a much less stable situation compared to say Ohio State where the football infrastructure is basically guaranteed to get you 8 wins just being a shytty coach and then good coaching gets you 11+ wins/year.

LSU is Bugatti tastes on a Mercedes budget.

Karma will come back to bite hiim but then again what choice did he have? LSU probably wasn''t going to wait and Ole Miss pressed him for an answer. Would have been better for his legacy as well to win a ring with the Rebels instead of just another coach to potentially win one with LSU.

He’ll leave LSU within the next 3 years. The job isn’t that much better than Ole Miss. I think it’s a silly lateral move with higher expectations but time will tell.

The fact that people trust this man is hilarious. He doesn’t even pretend to not be a dikkhead.

Man said “I’ve been for the streets. Don’t cry now.:manny:

Such a dikkhead but he's unapologetically who he is :yeshrug:

Hope LSU enjoys him

But to bounce on your team who's goin to the playoffs is wild. Not even coaching them is ridiculous

He wants to finish up the year/playoffs.

Ole Miss wants him out immediately if he goes to LSU... and Lane said he will take his assistants with him early if they don't let him coach the playoffs.

@Silkk in the other thread defending Kiffin :scust: when Ole miss is willing to match whatever offer he gets.

Forgetting about how he keft Tennessee in the middle of the night and had fans ready to burn him at the stake.

He got lucky at Ole Miss because his entire philosophy was to use the transfer portal and not recruit high school kids.

Guarantee you he will backtrack on that at LSU.

The Louisiana talent is one of his main reasons for leaving :dahell:

Cali exports more talent than it keeps within :sas2:
