Laptop - All my USB ports are dead(no power)

do i need a new motherboard?

-uninstalled-reinstalled the controller drivers
-removed battery and let it sit for 30 mns or so
-it is recognizing the controllers but power there's still no power


had this cooler plugged into the usb. Then the 3.0 ports stopped working. the 2.0 ones were dead before that.

yea im about to order a replacement mobo for 50 dollars. the CPU thats in it is too good to throw it away. 2630QM, im thinking of buying a 2820 QM while im at it too

if you have a dvd drive, boot up a linux livecd, ubuntu, linuxmint or any desktop os. if your usb ports work then it should rule out if its a hardware or software issue for good.

That's just the begining the computer is burning out, next thing it will be the screen then the motherboard i believe time to start shopping for a new laptop if you cant fix it.
