Las Vegas Golden Knights in first place

An expansion team is now in first place in the Western Conference. They were created through an expansion draft. All new team and now they are in first place. They got a good veteran goalie. Heading into the All-Star Weekend, which is kind of a litmus test for all teams, they seem to be in a strange position. Other teams that are in 9th place or lower in their conference need to regroup. There is still time for some of these teams to move up in ranking.

I think the Golden Knights have the talent to stay in the top 8 to be a playoff team.

They're really fun to watch too. They'll stay in the playoffs, they've got a real good talent base and picked perfect players for Gallant's system.

I gotta catch a game next time I'm in Vegas, I can imagine it's a fukking party, especially with them being good.

not having to do with how the team is playing, but i always thought NHL to Vegas made the most sense of the 4 major North American sports leagues. a majority of americans (of any race) know almost knowing about hockey. thus, when they go on vacation to vegas, going to a NHL game is the equivalent of going to show.

Went to the game last night

shyt was lit as fukk . Had to salute the New York Islanders fans cause they came out strong.

Took thirty minutes just to get past the security check gate because of the huge crowd.

Would've worn my custom Jersey to the game but I got it a day late .

They lost but still a great atmosphere to be at .


Highly recommended while you're in town.

Vegas is licking their chops for the Raiders next .

Crazy how good this team is, if this wasn't a cap era they would have been bottom of the league but because so many teams left high paying quality guys unprotected

Yes they will make the playoffs and they're not your typical expansion team. Their owner paid $500M for entry into the League. Bettman was going to do everything in his power to make them successful which is why the expansion draft was situated the way it was. It caused teams to trade players just so they wouldn't get poached and not get anything in return. Vegas has a HOF goaltender in net every night. They have legit NHL players on that team, not fringe guys.

I've been to a Washington Capitals game in Verizon Center. The crowd sucked. That was years ago. I don't know if things have changed. When the scoreboard thingy has to get the crowd pumped up, then it's lame. If the crowd is already pumped up, that's good.

I don't know who the goalie coach is with the Golden Knights. A good goalie coach can help mold an up-and-coming goalie to be a star. Subban isn't there yet, like his older brother. I hope he becomes a first stringer in the future.

It's about keeping the right set of players, just like any other pro sport.
Contracts end. A player's value goes up after a championship win. You can't keep the same group of players. If you have an expensive player, then he'll be surrounded by bargain bin players.
