Has A Number 1 Pick EVER Done This? It’s Not Gonna Happen, Stop lol

I recall rumors that Rubio tried it but Minne called his bluff. So even if Zion tried to, the only precedent is that it won't happen (and I dont even think that rumor turned out to be true, @tremonthustler1 might remember better)

The funniest thing is... They've hyped AD to be a product that should garner a bunch of young guys, picks AND ZION.

So, that should mean Zion's price Tag should be less.

It’s kind of scary how now that the lottery is over people have moved the goalposts to Zion can now say he’s not playing for anyone but us. Y’all gotta stop, this shyt ain’t healthy. It’s over, Pat said it best be happy you got 3rd and support the breh.

I've only referenced Barrett a few times in this thread, but I think I've been more optimistic about his upside than most. I prefer Garland, but yall are being a bit hard on the kid. The right coach and developing a jumper would make this kid a monster. Not my favorite prospect, but he'll be worth it if a team can build up his decision making and jumper (both tend to improve with time for most young players).
The right coach can turn this kid into an absolute superstar. And I think we have him...coaching the Westchester Knicks :martin:

:russ: Lemme try to spin a negative toward the positive. I've heard around the grapevine that part of his hero ball and some aspects that we see as negative come down to being hyper competitive and that competitiveness translates to a crazy work ethic. We're talking about the type of work ethic that should translate to guaranteed improvements if he's in the right environment. I think I've mentioned this before, but I actually look at him as the type of player that Fizdale could get through to as well. You combine those two and although I'd be nervous about him, his upside is really intriguing.

Have you seen him play in game? im not talking highlights. Most of his points come from Zion bulldozing to the basketball then dishing it out to him or chucking the ball during the last second. He is a lackluster lazy type of player. His ceiling is JR Smith or watered down Melo with the defensive capabilities.

With all due respect I know we are also optimistic on Frank and his potential but we aren't trying to give him the amount of time to develop that we give Frank.

At some point in time you want to achieve wins instead of building players that should have the capabilities to play at a decent level.

Well, players try to duck teams all the time. Jahlil Okafor successfully avoided being the #1 pick 4 years ago. It’s not impossible.

Our front office is competent enough to see that and choose Garland over him but they've been favoring Reddish so I dunno.
