Last time an album matched its hype

The Eminem Show? Get Rich Die Tryin? Maybe even The Black Album. While Kendrick Lamar's album was good, it wasn't the ish that you can bump and each song is fire, it's more of a concept album. I'm trying to relive that feeling where you were so hyped up for a project to drop and when it does it lives up to all the expectations and then some.

MCHG was an album that I really was excited for. The beats from the commercials sounded hot, everything seemed like it was destined to be a classic. And then it dropped and that ish was mediocre. Will I ever feel the way I did back in 2002-03?

You fukking stan! Cuz Backstreet Freestyle is such an amazing song. C'mon this was a good album, but the songs by themselves are weak as fukk. Not all of them, but a good number of them.

this. gkmc was my most anticipated album since an Eminem album and it became one of my most played albums

I can't remember the last time an album blew my mind like gkmc did, maybe mbdtf in 2010 and Food And Liquor in 2006.

Exceed all expectations- Culturally, Commercially, Critically. Only albums in recent times (past decade) are The Eminem Show and The Black Album.

Both had insane hype. Nagra quit real life to focus entirely on that album back in the SOHH days lmao, shyt is a classic display of dedication.


GKMC busted out the gate with amazing reviews and "classic" comparisons. I knew that album was gonna be a problem the minute the bass started on Sherane.
