This is my favorite sitcom of all time, but looking back, Season 9 and season 8 to a lesser degree was a huge drop off in terms of quality and feel. It became more cartoony and not as concise or well written as the other season. LD the Gawd was missed on those two last seasons.

I agree, it fell off, slightly....i still think they left at the right time...LD was burned out way more than jerry at that point, so who knows if he woulda helped. Imo Larry Charles is the biggest reason for seinfeld being so good for so long.

Most shows would, and I still watch the last two seasons, but even the best episodes during those seasons don't hold up as well to the previous seasons when LD was the exec producer and him and Jerry would revise add to each script together.

LD was definetly the heart of that show and his absence was noticeable.

2nd worse ending in a TV Series next to "LOST"...

ehhh.....better than the cast eventually getting married and having kids and shyt. when the show ended you never got a sense of what was going to happen to them. It just ended like a random episode. Them all getting locked up didnt seem definitive or like the writers were looking for a way to end things once and for all

I disagree with people dissing the finale.

The finale felt like a Seinfeld episode. Didn't take itself seriously, irreverent, didn't have a conventional ending and made fun of itself. Reminded me of season 3 when they made fun of how Seinfeld started.

Another reason it's great is because The GAWD LD came back to write the finale.

Like I said in the other thread
The more I think about it the more I start to appreciate the finale. They really were scumbags and ruined people's lives and even ended a few. They lucky they only got a year. George was a sociopath, Elaine was a pure thug who literally threw people in the bushes (Kramer), kidnapped dogs, and embezzeled money from her company , Kramer didn't give a fukk and always had a hand in the underworld by associating with shady figures, Jerry was the neat freak coward and borderline narcissist. They deserved way more than one year.
