Disregarding the low sample size and how old the study is and most of the latinos in this study are Mexican, to me this just shows how much they wanna align themselves with whiteness.
They felt the group they had the most in common with was whites at like 70%
Meanwhile whites felt they had the least in common with Latinos at 50%
And felt they had the most in common with blacks at 50%
And less that 10% of whites thought we didn't work hard while 60% of the Mexicans thought we dont work hard.

IE they see how much white people who they wanna be like admire and resonate with us while not accepting them and it bothers the fukk outta them. Dummies forget we built this country too. Black culture is American culture. Whites find more commonality and vibe with us cuz we are AMERICAN.
They still practice racism but the interlinked history provides commonality. An analogy would be like those 3 person friend groups where one friend is really a third wheel friend to two best friends and they are jealous they aren't the best friend meanwhile the other two don't even notice lol
