Never met a person who went to Lauryn Hill concert saying they would do it again.
She has a super loyal fanbase but that fanbase gets smaller every year not just because of the late arrivals but also becuz ticket prices be WAY crazy expensive and the word is out now.
Honestly I dont think she even enjoys live performance like that ...at least not on some performing more than 90min at a time and more than 50 times in a year.
And when i say 90min i'm not talking about letting the band play for 45min without any vocals and then doing 45min of singing/rapping.
The people see thru them 15min guitar solos

I don't agree with her being late, but ya"ll sound funny with this "she only had one album" angle. How many people dropped an album that's over 20 years old that people stay paying money to see her perform songs from?

Personally, she's an artist I wouldn't pay to see perform. I already know she's going to be late and its going to be re-arranged versions of the songs. I can just catch it on Youtube. I don't knock anyone going to the concerts, but she's been doing this for over a decade. You know what you're getting from a Lauryn show at this point.
Why didn’t she drop something else?

Name any other artist in history who dropped a great project and never followed it up. There’s been dead artist with more albums out than her. She’s a fraud living out one album with ghost producers/writers. It all makes sense.

A couple years back when she opened for Chappelle @ Radio city and just saw her like 2-3 weeks ago in DC with the Fugees

Okay you got that inspired/motivated version of Lauryn which is always excellent.
I find it interesting where/when artist rise to the occasion and show out.
I've seen Lauryn 4x, once in the mid 90s and that doesnt count since that was Fugees
once in DC in 2000 - probably the best show i've seen her as a solo artist
2x in the bay area - the oakland show was not good, she was super late and the crowd was in no mood
the SF show was better but I think only becuz she was in a larger lineup

I only paid for one of those shows, the 2000 one and every other time I was VIP or already working/performing at the event.

She's not a fraud. There weren't any ghost producers or ghost writers. All of those people got credits, but not the credits due.

What if someone called Raekwon a fraud becausr his greatest works is with Ghostface (OB4CL and OB4CL2) anfd none of his other albums are held anywhere near the regard those are?

And she did an Unplugged album, which shr had no help in writing and the writing on that >>>>>>> MOLH

Yeah man I can’t speak for everyone’s experience but from what I saw, I can imagine it’s tough to keep that up all the time. I know a couple weeks ago she said she was sick (and you could sorta hear it) but she was still at it for like 3 hours saying all the words and directing the traffic. That’s tough to do when you’re 100% so I give props. I can imagine in order to tour they require a certain amount of dates but sometimes a person wakes up and has a day. Not saying it’s cool but it’s life.
