North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
If I was a professional athlete I would boycott doing interviews and going on shows.

I remember when Stephen A. Smith said the media and sports writers "make" the athlete who they are (This was around the time Beastmode was :troll: the media during press conferences).

The fact that they keep subjecting the public to Lavar Ball's bullshyt is :scusthov:
They keep bringing him on TV shows, radio shows and podcasts knowing he's going to say dumb shyt, then turn around a "analyze it" :dahell:

Are nikkas that desperate for stories? Ratings?

Lavar Ball's fukk shyt logic should be regulated to twitter, tumblr or fukking facebook. He's literally the sports parent equivalent to the catch me out side girl or Kat Stacks.

OP has a point.
While we don't like to put sports reporters on the same level as say, political journalists...there is a certain level of discretion and journalistic integrity across all platforms.
For example, sports reporters used to keep personal stories/infidelities of athletes out of the public eye. Some choose not to anymore, but the point is there are things reporters choose not to report. People they choose not to interview or publicize or give a platform to.

The stories on LaVar Ball have no inherent value. It's literally just clickbait bullshyt for sports. ESPN and others are just the Buzzfeed of the sports world now. It's gossip.

And for people to say its always been like this are grossly misinformed.

When did you ever see a sports talk show have a parent on to talk about high school athletes?

Sports media has no moral compass. They routinely piggyback off of a TMZ story or instagram/twitter post.
