i definitely don't need it. I have MPCs like the 60, 3k, 2kxl, X, and other machines like the 1200 etc, but I love the capabilities. I definitely don't need it but it keeps me in the houseand zzounds has the no credit-check payment plan option. Its only extra few bucks too.. they ship immediately. let's put it in perspective, The MPC 3000 was released in 1994 when I was in high school. I still have my same PSSL catalog with my 17 year old handwriting of $2999 that the sales representative told me over the phone. That's equivalent to over $6500 today. The MPC 60 dropped in 1988 at a price of $5k. That would be almost $14k in today's price. So it's really a discount. You don't need the XL because you can do everything on a computer or your phone nowadays, but some people like to work away from a computer. Basically the XL that just dropped is an old MPC, s950(that had the key group feature back then the 60, 1200, or 3000 didn't), a sound module, and 16 tracks of audio recording with compressors, a preamp, and numerous other features. So it's worth more than the $3k price tag. The main thing that I purchased and always saw as overpriced was a 6176 and the S11 mixer. The S11 mixer alone is fukin $2500. My entire DJ setup in the late 90s and early 2000s with tech 1200s, mixer, and speakers wasn't even $2000!!!!Yall dropping 3k lightly on this 🫨
