Right message, wrong messenger.

If Tyrese or SGA capture a ring this weekend, do they now by default have better legacies & careers than Malone, Iverson, Ewing, etc.? To me, absolutely not.

Does he have a valid point about how pervasive the discussion is in the NBA compared to other major sports and how they treat their Hall of Famers whose Teams didn’t go all the way (Barry Bonds, Marino, etc.)? Absolutely.

Should this messsge be coming from the guy who televised “The Decision”, went to Miami and did a press conference where he and two other Superstars came out onstage with smoke machines like Hulk Hogan, Nash, and Hall in fukkin 1996 and declared they would win 7 in a row?…

HELL no. FOH Bron. At this point, he knows he won’t catch MJ in rings so he’s strategically moving the goal post for his own GOAT case purposes.

So you agree with Bron but dismiss his opinion because he wanted to play for a franchise that would surround him with a better team?

I acknowledge the truthfulness of his opinion while pointing out the hypocrisy and motive behind him sharing it at this point.
he was right but the wrong messenger.

Bron is 40, nobody at 40 thinks the same as they did at age 26. Maybe at his age he can look back at his younger self and realize the unnecessary pressure he put on himself for ring talk. And him having the greatest comeback in finals history makes him more than qualified to speak on it.
