Nah, really, it's probably a combination of three things:

1). Down year in Pop-Indie.

2). Discontent being the root of good criticism, even when it's completely positive.

3). Me not reviewing what I actually really liked for this site, due mostly to timing and the like. I could tell you how much I liked the new Will Guthrie album, or the new Willits + Sakamoto album, or that Seams double EP, but I didn't get to it until it was basically irrelevant. There are albums that were recently out that I really liked (check the main thread), so I'm hoping for more positivity.

But I might just save it for the end of year article, so :yeshrug:

yeah everytime I see you post its to say whats wrong with some new shyt. I understand music isn't perfect but man, the air you give off is of complete discontent lol.

Didn't I have an argument with you about how good the latest Fiona Apple album was. And I was the one blessing it with rhapsodic praise?

Isn't it implied that the portions of an album that haven't been picked at or targeted in a review, or which go unmentioned, are at the very least adequate (at worst, not worth mentioning, in a neutral sort of way)?

I don't know, when I read a review I'm looking for what prevented it from being something more, whatever the scale (bad to alright, alright to great)... which usually comes out as negative.
