You can beat the game and go straight to the final boss as soon as you start it.
"Users may not actually get the full story depending on how they play this game and how they strategize and solve puzzles," producer Eiji Aonuma told Polygon. "Users are able to go to the very end goal without revealing why Link woke up the way he did and where he did. Whether you want to reveal the storyline and find out why Link woke up, or you want to just go straight to the goal, that's an option totally up to the user."

When asked, Aonuma confirmed that a player could go directly to the final boss of the game from its opening moments if they wanted. However, he also stressed that he didn't view this as an ideal way to play.

"Anybody who can go straight to the goal without doing anything else — there's two possibilities," Aonuma said. "Either they're a really good gamer, or they could be somebody that's a little bit crazy. But it's not impossible. I created the game like that.

that's kind of strange for a zelda game because you usually need to pick up different weapons in order to pass certain parts to advance...but I'm guessing it will at least be real hard without the other weapons hence why he said a really good gamer or crazy :yeshrug:

Be able to get to the final boss and being able to actually beat him is two different things.
The idea of running up to the final boss is weird considering he's usually protected in some fortress with goons you have to go through first, BUT even if they did skip all of that for this game, I would hope that if you ran straight up to him within the first few minutes of the game that he would kill you immediately with no trouble at all.
It would be corny if you were able to kill the final boss and see the ending right off the jump and make the rest of the game feel inconsequential.

It does seem weird that you could go and beat the final boss from the beginning of the game but it could open up some other great possibilities. Maybe the world changes dramatically if you beat the boss in the opening minutes of the game. I could see this being a good thing that gives you more replay value if done right. Sadly I will never buy a nintendo system again so even if it is done right I wouldn't play it.
