@CopiousX and @MikelArteta

How/why would you conclude that they are being ripped off? Like all countries, Rwanda has different regions and metro areas where the the standard of living and the cost of living differs.

They live in the capital city, likely in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods. Their rent and monthly expenses wouldnt be what a moderately successful family living in a different region would pay. Wouldn't even be what people in less affluent area of Kigali would pay.
Like I said they´re paying for convenience. They´re paying to be around rich people and they probably aren´t citizens. For example I saw a place in my neighborhood the guy wanted 2.25 million pesos for a three bedroom house.

I pay 2million pesos for a one bedroom. I hit the guy up he said no Fidadors meaning no co signers. I´m not a citizen so I don´t have a credit score so I have to pay more for the risk that someone takes for renting to me.

I seen another unfurnished bedroom for 1.4 million same neighborhood but he wants 6 months up front for the risk of renting to me.

He got an american tenant now who´s running up the light bills because he´s mad at him.

Yeah I wanted to check out Accra but I heard things Again you can pay waaay too much for a fly place surrounded by shytty infrastructure.

It´s kinda wild because you got to really cut through the noise of repats and the scamming from other repats in Ghana is on 100 thousand.
You can have the time of your life in Accra. Outside of Lagos and Nairobi, one of the top nightlife scenes on the continent. But that alone doesn't justify the insane real estate prices for a place that still has a long way to go when it comes to infrastructure. Not to mention the corruption and how easy it is to lose your money. Even friends born in Ghana get jipped.

Kigali may not have the popping nightlife scene but the infrastructure is on point.

Accra - You can pop bottles in some nice looking rooftop bar in Osu then literally step into trash all over the streets as soon as you walk out.

Kigali you not seeing no trash on any streets. Like none. And you dealing with wayyyy less corruption when doing business compared to Ghana

All this being said this shows you the possible. At the end of the day don´t be a corporate debt slave. I´ve been watching a channel called Bob Invests and he talked about the 100K debt trap. I fell into that myself as I could touch 100K with bonuses before I left. Granted Dana Dane and his wife are renting but life is about Ownership Buy appreciating assets not depreciating assets. I´m not saying the answer for most is to move to Africa but I will say that you need to buy some land somewhere in the state or overseas

This is what you´re paying for no trash on the streets and less corruption.

There´s a car wash in the neighborhood I used to live in that´s infested with rats. My buddy has a food truck besides the place and the owner of the carwash is supposed to clean out the back office and get rid of the rats.

Nearer to me there´s a bus station and a family of rats there and I want to put some rat traps or get a terrier to kill the rats. I never seen a rat anywhere near me but my siddity ass don´t want to see any rats at all. Obviously rats are everywhere but they´re like roaches if you see one that indicates a major infestation and everyone has a little Karen in them.

I never knew why DC despite being in a swamp had no mosquitoes. I lived in Embakassi in Nairobi when I first got there and they had Mosquitoes Moved to another place and no mozzies. Turns out the reason places don´t have bugs is because they spray for them same way they collect trash to keep down vermin.

Again living Africa is like living in a ghetto that´s a country you think you especially as a non citizen ¨Tether¨ has any motion you got another thought comming so you want to live in the flyest place with rich locals who can make a call to get shyt done like reilable trash pick up.

So my advice on Moving to Africa is to stay in the flyest area in the capital first and as you get used to living in Africa you can downgrade so rent first in a fly area and buy in a lower cost area.

Same thing stick to international restaurants and high end grocery stores then over time as you learn the real cost of things haggle in the markets.

Assuming Dana Dane and his wife just moved there they´re doing it right as they learn the prices of things they can buy a really nice place outside the city.
