The lego batman movie did well but it wasn't a big hit like they thought it'd be

The first Lego movie made 469 million on a 60 million budget.

Lego batman made 311 million on a 90 million budget
Lego movie 2 made 190 million on a 100 million budget

Lego batman had rave reviews but i think the novelty of "lego" movies was already losing it's luster
