Obama “avoids the battle, complains, and misses opportunities.”

:whew: been doing this from day 1. In fact he is doing this right now about why intel didn't see ISIS doing damage so quickly

“I think we’re looking at kind of a 30-year war” that will also sweep in conflicts in Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen and Libya, he told the paper.

:leon: Looks like Washington has some plans in store for Naija

Really? The US pulled everyone out, combat and non-combat. Why leave behind non-combat troops in a hostile environment? That's like stupid.

its just a euphemism, obama never promised to removed troops from iraq or afghanistan, he promised to remove combat troops

non combat usually means they are there on a "training" mission, it doesnt mean they arent ready for combat, it just means their primary goal isnt combat

but that was what obama should have done, that way he could have satisfied election promises and kept a force to stabilize iraq, it was plain stupid for him not to do that, i just think its crazy that obama never had a plan b for the coming breakdown, the breakdown of iraq could have been predicted cuz iraq is a fake state anyway

Leon Panera is blowing smoke up people's asses. He is just as guilty as Barry.
i think this guy leon is like one of those guys who goes into these organizations thinking he's going to make a difference but he realizes he can't do shyt watching the corruption with a conscience and quits.

so far nigeria has been hit with 2 hit combo and we've seen how they can handle the blows.
1. not buying their oil
2. how they're handling ebola.

there's more to come.

i still feel mastercard doing their ID was a backdoor move waiting to happen.

i think i also read somewhere that nigeria doesn't print their own money. central bank take over?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ost-his-way-created-vacuum-for-islamic-state/

It’s going to be a rough week for President Obama, thanks in part to his former CIA director and defense secretary, Leon Panetta, who in an interview published this morning said the president has “kind of lost his way.”

By not pressing the Iraqi government to leave more U.S. troops in the country, he “created a vacuum in terms of the ability of that country to better protect itself, and it’s out of that vacuum that ISIS began to breed,” Panetta told USA Today, referring to the group also known as the Islamic State. :yeshrug:

He said Obama has a “frustrating reticence to engage his opponents and rally support for his cause” and too frequently “relies on the logic of a law professor rather than the passion of a leader.” Sometimes, he told USA Today’s Susan Page, Obama “avoids the battle, complains, and misses opportunities.”

The USA Today interview was the first of what inevitably will be a series as he promotes his book, “Worthy Fights: A Memoir of Leadership in War and Peace,” which is sharply critical of Obama’s handling of the troop withdrawal from Iraq, Syria and the advance of the Islamic State. “I think we’re looking at kind of a 30-year war” that will also sweep in conflicts in Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen and Libya, he told the paper.

I think it is a 4-part mistake.

1) going into Iraq was very foolish, there were no weapons and Sadaam posed no threat to the US or interests.

2) It was stupid have a white man with no middle-east experience lead Iraq during the beginning years invasion. From the CIA to Mid-East Analysts all said that de-baathification was going to be one of the undoings of the U.S. This caused the US to go to war with an insurgency of first pissed off Iraqis and then extremists that wanted to fight the U.S. It also allowed for massive unemployment, this made it easier for anti-US organization to recruit and market themselves

3) Mediocre pick for president in Al-Maliki. He went from a national senator to president with little to no training and discipline. Bush did a good job coaching Al-Maliki but in retrospect, again the CIA and Iraqi analysts warned that Al-Maliki had sectarian views and tendencies. In order to hold Iraq together, the administration needed to find a leader(s) to unify all the factions together. Al-Maliki was never the guy, he just wanted to prop up Shiites and keep his base of power strong. His administration also failed in basic needs like education, finances, central banking, security needs, and infrastructure development. When a government fails to meet the basic needs of citizens, this is ripe for another, perhaps stronger organization to come and claim the land or replace that government.

4) Obama's abandonment of Iraq and his lack of support for the president caused Al-Maliki to purge the Iraqi military causing another wave of unemployed soldiers and generals. Since most US troops and diplomats were leaving (probably too early) this caused Al-Maliki and the people in power to act hastily since they knew they weren't going to get the same support as before. He also punished Sunni political and economic interests and try to get them shut out. This caused groups like ISIS to easily negotiate and ally with Sunnis. The old adage of the, enemy of my enemy is my friend. Also ISIS manage to recruit (or coerce) US trained military leaders and generals to fight with them.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm no expert.

he's kinda right, i remember thinking how crazy it was that there were leaving no troops in iraq but i figured there was a plan b or contingency plan if the government started breaking down, but now it turns out there was no plan b, apparently obama really thought the iraqis were going to flower

but hopefully they wont make the same mistake in afghanistan
there was no plan B. when he ran for the prez. he said and kept that promise. We pulling out. so we pulled OUT. how long are you supposed to stay? FOREVER.... thats pretty much what these war lovers are asking for. creating a US base dead in Iraq...FOREVER. otherwise the moment you roll out these nuts will get it cracking. At some point you have to let a nation figure things out for itself. And what is clear is that certain TYPES of muslims over there aint rocking with other types. Now those muslims of the smaller sect have a choice to make. they dont have the numbers, they dont have the laws to back them. they dont have the fire power to defend themselves. it may be time to roll out and leave what you call home. If america would've never abided by the constitution when it came to AA's even though we still are being treated unequally in a lot of senses to today. it aint got nothing on how those majority muslims treat the minority muslims..still in 2014. If AA's were still treated like that 100% of the time in 2014 as we were in 1850. It would be time for black folks to find another place to stay.

yeah we would have been there forever petty much, you do realize we are still in kuwait and and saudi arabia right?

like i explained obama promised to bring back combat troops, and he could have kept that promise while still leaving non combat troops to continue training the iraqi troops and for stability

iraq is not a real country, its a made up country so there is no core for people to unite around, so what is happening now was predictable once american troops pulled completely and there was no plan b
