It was definitely a power play, but I think it was more about Meek/Ross than Wayne.
I also believe AB is now the most talented dude on CMR records, Dark Lo if he's over there too. But that's just my personal belief

edit: and I DEFINITELY dont think Birdman gives a shyt about another Black man, just ask anybody whoever signed to him and never got paid
