That the media would take his extreme response, and lump EVERYBODY critical of the interview, and the interviewer's conduct as the same extreme response.

There's thousands who expressed displeasure and disappointment for Gayle's actions, but they latched onto Snoop, and are using his problematic phrasing and general history to delegitimize all the criticism as a whole, while strawmanning the entire controversy into a bw vs bm debacle, eagerly gliding past the original sin of the interview, the patronizing of one woman by another.

She womansplained Leslie to try n gotcha her!

:snoop:If he had done that video calling out Gayle and Oprah but hadn't called them bytches and hadn't said we gon get you or whatever he said, then this whole firestorm of whataboutisms and making Gayle and Oprah out to be the victim never would have happened

They were literally on the ropes! We literally had the c00ns on the ropes and Snoop messed it up.

Now the actual argument is being lost in this whole "disrespect of black women" narrative because folks are intentionally using it to cloud the issue and take the heat off of them

Poorly played. Poorly played :snoop:

I been saying this. He gave a face to the anonymous death threats Oprah claimed Gayle was receiving. Without that, she'd still be getting clowned and no one would be fiercely defending her. Instead she's the victim now and heavy names are coming out to support her.

Snoop is an ignorant idiot who is damnw near 50. This should have been a serious conversation about double standards and the way Gayle selectively targets people who can't hurt her career. Instead it's about threats and bullshyt.

Disagree. These people will literally make shyt up out of thin air to deflect to.

Says who? They have used the misogyny deflection even when no one called them a bytch before. They'd just bring up Snoop's (or any critic's) history or make up some random bullshyt.

We're dealing with liars. So even if someone with a perfect history made a perfect criticism of Gayle King, they'd just make up a lie about them and use that lie to attack them.

These folks was going to attack Snoop no matter what he said, and if it wasn’t Snoop, it would’ve been another man.

Same people on this board getting on Snoop we’re looking for a reason to jump on Gayles side anyways. Looking for a reason, because they harbor those same feelings towards black men and regular/down bad blacks as well.

Should snoop had said it; nah. It doesn’t really matter though. The split would be there anyways

Exactly. If Black Jesus himself calmly criticized Gayle, they'd still deflect to how misogynoir it is for a man to criticize how a woman should conduct her interviews.

OP's thinking kind of reminds me of when a black person does something bad, and some black people react by saying "damn this is going to make white people racist against us:snoop:"

No...those racists would have found another false justification to be a racist.

He did. And he know he did.

He too damn old to be saying "before we come get you" --- and think that doesn't mean something negative and threatening.

Nor that people wouldn't think it doesn't man what it means.

I understand he was upset - and Gayle was out of line and wrong -- but he is way too old -- and a father and husband.

He needs to think before he speaks. And learn how to speak his mind and frustrations better.

He could have called for Gayle to be fired. Or called for CBS to issue a apology and pay up. Just all types of other ways to get at Gayle and CBS.

Go for pockets - forget all the rah rah ish. Now, this will affect his pockets.

I wonder if Martha Stewart will work with him now. Since, he transformed into the "safe" rapper that Whites loved.
