I wouldn't say it ended in 2010, we're still in the dark ages b

trap music, catchy hooks and beats are still more important than lyrics and lyricist amongst todays listeners

Nope

Todays theirs actually Fresh talent Kendrick, whole TDE camp, Joey baddas, Good music, Asap, all dropping some good music and others step their game up
Their was none of this in 07-10

Breh it was a very dissappointing Era. I do not own a single CD from 07-10 xcept MBDTF. I dont think i listened to much hiphop. It was the Great Depression ERA of hiphop. Them Ol'heads must have been on the verge of sucicide

I'm gonna say hiphop has been sh1tty since 2006 and still is

sh1ts dead forever bro.......

We had our run, just like soul music, jazz, punk, grunge etc all did....

Yes music from hiphop will still be made, but just like the other genres, its best days are long gone

Near Philly
Music during that time completely sucked. I only started to get interested in RAP again last year. For me it was more mid 2005-2011.

Blu and Exile dropped in 2007. OBFCL2 dropped in 2009. The Roots had How I Got Over in 2010.

Can't think of anything for 2008 right now.

I think 2004-2008

but you're right, 2007-2010 had less "exceptions" whereas 2004-2008 had a couple good showings by Kanye, Jay-Z, etc

You contradicted yourself.

2004-06 had 50 cent ,banks, Dipset, Kanye nd Jay. i think mos def was dropping some music.

Common's BE dropped still bangs to this. Lots of soulfull music dropped The shinning,Late registration,Be,Mos defs albums.

Yeezy,Timbo, Neptune, Just blaze and polow da don running productions lots of dope music dropped but the streets were fed.

2007 was when the trouble began
