The logic in this thread is incredibly flawed not to mention OP not even owning a console. Now sports games are great, with sometimes decent replay value not always. I bought Madden last year and honestly played it maybe 3 times, still haven't gotten 25, still mad about gettin the last one. Anyway, the one knock I would give sports games is you basically know what your getting, theres no surprise to it. Imagine another franchise put out the same game every year with minimal tweaks to it *cough*COD*cough*HALO*cough.
NBA 2k is the only sports game that is consistently worth the $60. If it didn't come out every year it would hold even more value. The business model can't be tampered with when people will spend that $60 every year. Why charge less and not put out a physical copy if it will still sell millions. Probably the same mindset that Activision has.

I only play sports games and 2K is definitely the game that gets the most spin. You can play it year round. You can play it alone, with friends, online. With the right custom rosters and classic roster it has infinite replay value.
All these nerdy games like Halo and Call of Duty is basura. Never played em and never will.
