lemme get 1 thing out the way, the chronic outside of the it takes a nation of millions to hold us back is the greatest hip hop album of all time. both are like 1a and 1b to me, they hold like that number 1 spot for goat hip hop album imo
now the chronic is dr. dre's solo album and rhythm-al-ism is quik's solo album however both have a lot in common are producer rappers who roles as producers comes first or rather they happen to be producers who just happen to rap and invite other artists and friends to rap and or sing on their records while they play the ringmaster of the show
now we all know how groundbreakin', significant, and monumental the chronic has been to hip hop and the culture but rhythm-al-ism was a very unique, outstandin' and special album for dj quik because musically i would say it's quik's best album and what it shares with the chronic is the role he took as a producer and orchestratin' the whole theme, vibe and feel of the album just like dr. dre did with the chronic. both these albums challenged hip hop and rap music musically with their high level of excellent production, mixin', masterin' and engineerin' etc. rhythm-al-ism didn't get mass appeal that the chronic did however it is a gem in hip hop and rap music
let's talk and compare the 2 just for the sake of comparison
