I dont listen to childish gambino... but the prollem is nikkaz try to pigeonhole the gawd when he dont fit into that pigeonhole. Same thing I said when F&LII came out. nikkaz wanna hate that he's too lyrically dense, but a small minority of his songs are even like that. Then other nikkaz cry when he doesnt do a bunch of wordplay heavy tracks. Other nikkaz get mad when he does a dense track instead of a socially conscious joint. Other nikkaz get mad when he aint doin story tracks. Other nikkaz want him to do a long winded extended metaphor every track.... other nikkaz mad if he aint do a bunch of radio songs.

so we got all these nikkaz complaining but not one of em realizin he just gave everyone what they wanted. Lu truly is the gawd.

only time nikkaz think about lupe in reality is when they see a skateboard in the hood and kick push automatically plays in their head. only lupe stans actually contemplate about all of the shyt you just said. every other hip hop spectator recognizes he's a great lyricist, but the image wore off. he rode in on a socially conscious, non-intimidating skateboard in the booth to catch the hipsters. ever since then he's been ferociously trying to escape that image by being overtly, anti- everything. it's okay to be socially aware and still be social, but instead he alienated himself like he and his thoughts were the elite and the hip hop nation constantly needed to be reminded of who had all the knowledge. it got boring, not because of the lyrical density, but because of the pretentiousness he thought we couldn't see through.

Yo I have all his music. The other night I was fishbowling with an Asian shorty and I put his discography on random and I literally didnt hear a bad song. I also didnt hear a song where he DIDNT deliver lyrically. Lupe's the best lyricist in the game and he should be appreciated.
