Let's get this straight: LeBron is not a "pass first" player

It's absurd that people keep going on about how LeBron is more like Scottie Pippen or Magic Johnson in terms of his offensive mentality.

LeBron is a great passer, but if he is a "pass first" player, then who isn't a pass first player?

LeBron's career regular season ppg is 27.13, good for fifth all-time, and within 0.25 ppg of the number three and number four guys (Elgin Baylor and Kevin Durant)

LeBron's career playoff ppg is 28.28, again good for fifth all-time, and within 1 ppg of the number three and number four guys (Jerry West and Kevin Durant)

Magic Johnson averaged 19.5 ppg in the regular season and in the playoffs.

Scottie Pippen averaged 16.1 ppg in the regular season and 17.5 ppg in the playoffs. Pippen only had 4 seasons where he averaged over 20 ppg.

LeBron routinely scores 30+ points, and it's not uncommon for him to get 40+ points

Magic had 10 career 40 point games

For his career, Kobe Bryant averaged 19.5 field goal attempts and 7.4 free throw attempts per game. LeBron has averaged 19.6 field goal attempts and 8.2 free throw attempts per game.

LeBron is as much of a shooter/scorer as anyone this side of Michael Jordan. To characterize him as a player who is "pass first" is ridiculous.

It's not that he's "pass first" but he is a willing passer who knows how and knows the importance of getting teammates involved.

nikkas just love to make comparisons. It's really about their limited minds more than anything. When they see something new, that they can't fit into one of their predetermined boxes, their brain doesn't know how to react.

People wanna compare every great basketball player to Jordan but LeBron and Jordan's games are very different so there really is no "comparison". You can prefer one over the other but that's it.

Truth is we've never seen anything like LeBron. First off, he's the same size as Karl Malone. Malone was an all time great and no one would question that. But LeBron is infinitely more skilled than his physical counterpart. That should tell you how great this dude is! That we're comparing essentially a PF to the greatest wing of all time should tell you how great this dude is!

Best comparison for LeBron? I'd have to borrow a line from Jigga: If you haven't heard, he's Michael, Magic and Bird all rolled in one. :yeshrug: Plus he'll chase your shyt down and beat it out the gym. :pachaha:

This is the truth and essentially what is wrong about all of these arguments about LeBron in the first place.

He is TRULY a unique basketball player but since people can't handle the thought process that somebody can be, you know, DIFFERENT, they try to fit him into a bunch of boxes that he doesn't even fit into. People hate change, people hate progress, it scares them.

I just can't wait for the next guy who'll come around and be even MORE unique.

Not a pass first but he almost always makes the correct basketball play in the flow of the game.

He is a dude that does whatever needs to be done similar to magic.

If he was on a team that only needed him to pass first he would definitely do that.

Bron knows when to pass which makes people say he's a pass first player. But just cause he looks to score doesn't mean he isn't a willing passer and selfish can never be attached to his name.

I fukking hate when Pippen compared him to Magic and himself. Yes, LeBron is a great passer with I.Q. who enjoys the team aspect of the game, but you nikkas were nowhere near LeBron as half court scorers. Y'all couldn't take over games offensively. LeBron has a god damn Scoring Title, 50 point games, one of the best scoring averages regular and postseason, great efficiency. I mean c'mon.
