Prime Gohan was the baddest muthafukka in the DB universe until they neutered him. It's funny because Toriyama wanted to move on from Goku, and could have done so if he hadn't make him so bytchmade. This and fan demand made it impossible for Toriyama to take the franchise in a new direction with a different protagonist. Even Prince Vegeta was shook when Gohan transformed into an ascended Saiyan. What could have been....

As far as personality is concerned, it's a draw between Piccolo and Vegeta.
