Logan should have gotten the nom, but black people would have complained cause they want more color at the ceremony. It's not winning any oscar though. Trust that.
Sure it captured the zeitgeist for months after it's release, it was different with an interesting premise and let's not act like the Oscars are infallible, crash and shakespeare in love won. The arist won just this decade it's more about the story leading up to the Oscar then the actual quality and Get Out can create as good of story as any of the nominations

I mean it was a great black comedy horror, but that's about it.
Logan was good for a comic book movie, but that's about it. Get Out will be remembered as one of the best films of the 2010's.

By black people mostly. White people didn't give a shyt about Get Out as much as you would like to think. Hence why all the cac movies are cleaning up. Lady Bird and 3 Billboards were the worst movies I saw last year, but cacs are praising them. Get Out doesn't have a chance with the line up of cac films this year.

Get Out cannot be both unimportant to whites in the Academy and also mainly nominated by whites in the Academy at the same time.
It definitely deserves Best Screenplay and if we’re keeping it funky Peele deserves Best Director as well...
