this thread is only for the dudes that came up during that time

ra is overrated and never dropped a solo cla##ic. nas is about 6 cla##ics deep and ra don't got 1 but hes the goat right? !! outta here. nas is better in every category and plus ra is jealous of nas success, that's why he was mad after nas made a song about his life. how can u get mad at that? nas accomplished what ra always wanted and its eating him up on the inside

not only is nas better but his career light years past ra career

:russ: @ Nas being "six classics deep". That is pure stanery right there. Nas has one classic and thats Illmatic. Illmatic was greatly overshadowed by Snoop and Biggie in 94-95'. Most people who say Illmatic is the "greatest album of all time" didn't even hear the sh!t until after 2001. Even Russel Simmons flat out refused sign Nas in the early 90's because he said he sounded too much like Kool G Rap. And Nas had the nerve to shout out Russel on "Ether" after that. Nas was basically doing his best Kool G Rap/Rakim impression over Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth and Main Source beats on Illmatic. Without Rakim, there would be no Nas. I hope some of you Nas stans aren't from outside the Tri-State because that would be pathetic and embarrassing. NY looks down on the rest of the country.

Your hate is much worse than his "pure stanery"

A Mississippi Cotton Field
he's not.

Times change and styles evolve. Ra may have been leaps and bounds over MCs in his day, and a lot of MCs may say they aren't better than the MCs they grew up on.... but anybody who isn't trying to give a politically correct answer or a "paying homage don't disrespect the legends" answer knows it isn't true.

Hell, Styles P says there have been only TWO kings of new york (Biggie and Run from RUN DMC). Does that really mean Styles P isn't a better MC than Run?

If Jordan says Dr. J is better at him at dunking a basketball, does that mean Julius Irving is better jumping straight up and dunking than Mike is dunking from the freethrow line?

Do you REALLY believe Ra is a better MC than Nas just because Ra was GOAT first?
