I feel like I never heard something "behind" the words in 50 cent. Like when you listen to Styles P, Young Buck, Beans, Eminem, Prodigy, a lot other artists I could name.. there is "soul" behind their rap. There is a level of human emotion or spiritual connection below the actual words they're saying. With 50 it's like you can't scratch under the surface, it's just a glossy finish even if the content is gritty.
You may be right on him needing to upgrade his skillset, but I think even better skills can't give you longevity if you aren't talking about something deeper.
fiddy has soul.
he just lacks the technical mastery a guy who has a career as long as him should have by now.
in 1995-96, to 2016 fiddy will have twenty years in the game and it will all be a biter based skillset on mixing mase with Pac.
fiddy lacks the mystery of the artsit you talked about excluding young buck.
who also lacks technical mastery and is unlistenable.
the reason why banks still draws is mystery, for every record.
banks fans wonder:
- will, banks get the clarity right this record.
-will, banks mix his biggie/pac delivery from grodt feature and be untouchable in all facets, as an emcee.
-man, what rhyme scheme will he use
etc, etc...
same as with any technically actualized rapper in that age bracket or veteranship.
artist like:
g rap
ll
krs
rakim
eminem
styles p
dro
cam
jada
busta
along with some others,...
all employ technical mastery as emcees.
which is why they are longer drawing more respected artist.
they recreate the mystery every record/verse.
with fiddy, all you get is the same one to three syllable stock g unit/shady flow.
that real talk the whole industry learned to do and employs.
what fiddy should have done is up'd skills and he would still create that mystery.
if, he never does that.
the listener will not stand by idle and wait, anymore.
as fiddy, is a saturation method artist.
so, he has to up skills given what type of artist he is.
or, from the bulk of his material.
his listener will get bored.
as they have heard him say what he is going to say how he is going to say it.
he has to raise his syllable count per bar and his cadence.
now, is the time.
plus, now is the time to apologize to banks.
as real talk,...
banks and fiddy both need one another to help each other skillwise.
as banks, needs fiddy's enunciation/mic presence/clarity and appeal.
while, fiddy needs banks to help him develop his pengame to a more advanced level.
it is just like ti, in the 24's era before he fell off.
after he up'd skill from his wack I'm serious era.
he needs that type of stark up in skills, every record with no tail off, ever to be successful.
he can't have the ghostwritten ice cube verse on the feature with butch Cassidy and never be that good anymore.
fiddy has to really up skills or he will fail.
it is now or never.
