Jeezy or Monie? Or actually both are? For those not familar. This was during the Nas "Hip Hop is Dead" album.

Idk man. That whole shyt was confusing. You would THINK Nas was talking about how shytty hip hop music was at the time and how dumb nikkas took over (look where we are now).

But you look at his interviews and it's just him dissing record labels

Monie Love made it about the South when Nas was specifically NOT talking about the South and said so multiple times.

Jeezy fell for the trap and got agitated. He also Ethered himself when he said “We’ll see how them first week numbers look” and Nas outsold him first week.

Alls well that ends well. Jeezy and Nas peaced it up and are mad cool now

I found some old CD books in storage and ripping some of the shyt off mixtapes and whatnot to my iTunes and I gotta say, that 04-08/09ish period in music was THE WORST. Like the beats, content, all of it was bad

Glad that someone agrees with me. That topic needs to be its own thread.

dog, it was like labels was giving nikkas labels and giving out contracts for tax write-off purposes. Producers got super lazy during this period.

The one-hit wonders of that time period, was when I almost gave up listening to Hip Hop
