Hip Hop Heads lets salute Raekwon Da Chef for KEEPING the Wu Tang brand alive and kicking going into the new decade. Much like Ghost when he dropped Supreme Clientele when Wu Tang started to lose their appeal to the Ruff Ryders, Roc, Cash Money, No Limit, Bad Boy during the late 90s.
Wu Tang was once again facing adversity. The members were beefing with each other over money, ODB had died and 8 Diagrams was wack along with Ghost doing videos crying about nikkas not buying his album. Wu Tang was looking like a bunch of old nikkas trying to keep up with the forever changing music climate.
When Rae dropped Cuban Linx II. It reintroduced the Wu into the new generation as those live nikkas that can still put it down. Raekwon had regained the Wu's base along with the respect of the young and up and comers which is why guys like J Cole, Big Sean, Kanye, Game, French and other call him to do remixes or guest features. Between dropping that along with stellar mixtapes and albums which motivated the Wu to drop stellar projects(Czar, 12 Reasons to Die) It seemed Wu Tang have found their niche again.
So lets salute the Chef for being that OG thats keeping the Wu name relevant into the new geneartion
