Let's SERIOUSLY discuss Lebron as Player/Coach for a minute

How WOULD Lebron fair as Player/Coach at this point he's such a dominant personality that by simple force of his presence it seems to undermine ANY coach who would be at the helm in Cleveland (Popovich/Doc Rivers ain't walking through that door)

This isn't even to throw shade at Tyrone Lue, but Lebron is seriously COACHING this team, it's been evident all year but not moreso than the past couple games. Could a full blown Lebron coached/led team actually succeed?

LeBron is already a player coach, seriously. I just don't think he can compete with the West that way though, he needs to learn how to be a part of an actual offense

He is. I'm talking about cutting out the middle man and making it OFFICIAL though. Lebron would HAVE to take on the responsibility of being coach and star player. All of the power he has within the organization and the city (which I don't fault him for not ONE bit) he'd REALLY have to embrace and own up to. There would be no more excuses about the failures of the coach because he WOULD be the coach. He's already got the team listening and responding to his direction more than Lue, and again no shade to Lue it just is what it is.

I'm just wondering if it were all OFFICIAL what advantage/detraction would that the gain the team? It would be interesting as hell to see Lebron take that responsibility

If Steve Kerr and Luke Walton can be considered fit to coach why can't Lebron? Kerr had no prior coaching experience when he got the job. Lebron wants to win more than anyone whats the harm in having him be a leader.

It's one thing when all your energy, focus, and effort is devoted to coaching your players. You get the ingredients and your sole responsibility is making the best meal possible.

It's an entirely different thing when you're responsible for playing as a top 3 player in the world for 36-44 minutes a night along with everything that entails. Coaches aren't putting in that time in the gym lifting weights and conditioning, they're not practicing sets, they're not shooting hundreds of free throws and mid range shots and corner 3s a day.

He's not a true player-coach the way you guys make it out to be.

You guys are acting like LeBron is combing through hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of film over the offseason and tweaking offensive and defensive gameplans and coming up with sets and rotations and how to micromanage players and lineups on back to backs. He's not.

Blowing off the coach and running basic sets or ISO ball during a game is one thing. Being a true coach that everyone looks to for everything regarding how the team is run and making adjustments before, during, and in between games as well as setting the practice schedule while also being a player is another.

LeBron would have to mature real quick. The coach can't be laughing it up with Heat players after Miami kicks his ass. No twitter distractions. No more in season vacations No free agency dream team with his buddies thoughts. And he would have to set the tone and not take plays off.
