Because it's 2015 and panicking over [overnight] ratings is foolish, even by his out of touch standards.

He should be worrying about attendance, merch sales, and network buys and whether they're up to where they need them or not.

The tv deals with USA is entirely what keeps the company afloat at the level it's on. A common ground for every dead wrestling promotion is losing its tv deal. They're in trouble if they don't satisfy the USA Network, because they don't have anywhere near WWE Network subscribers to move Raw & Smackdown there

Until it comes time to re-up that TV deal and get more/new advertisers in.

Right now, it might not bother him, but there will be a whole lot of when NBC lowballs the fukk out of them.

He's weakening his case every week, at the moment. Sure it's not something that impacts them day to day - but TV rights are the biggest source of revenue they have. Vince may not give a shyt about wrestling, but he loves money...

And they detonated their PPV and DVD business with the network so tv ratings are even more important. if you aren't watching Raw on USA, you won't be spending $9.99 a month. You damn sure won't be spending $100 when WWE comes to your area twice a year.
