Above The Clouds

This song and video are both phenomenal, every fukkin artist brought that heat. And the video was a classic. One of the illest posse tracks from the 90's era.

Keith Murray & Prodigy both appearing on the remix around the time their beef was on and popping, Prodigy sent a dart at Murray but it got edited out in the Video/radio version. (I wonder how things were on the video shoot set?)

Prodigy droppin of the illest gems in Rap history.. "Illuminati rule my mind, soul and my body/ secret society, trying to keep they eye on me." :wow:

Fat Joe completely blacked out on this joint and had headz buggin with his ferociousness, plus he had Pun with him in the vid before the world really knew who he was

Foxy coming out of nowhere and having nikkas open with the ill nana steez, and at 3:04 you can see a young Mega and Nasir in the vid repping The Firm in brothership and harmony :ahh:(before the Steve Stout production deals, deceit and betrayal.)

Then LL comes and reminds nikkas why he's one of the GOATs with a timeless rhyme dissing all his past victims :damn:.

:salute:5 stars, dap and + rep

people don't give ll cool j his props these days, but the brother is one of the greatest mcs of all time. like muhammad ali, ll was a baaaaaaaad man in his prime! :wow:

not even arguably, ll cool j is top 5 imo. and if not top 5, he's easily top 10 across the board. easy! :salute:

when i first heard this song back then and ll went "what the fukk? i thought i conquered the world. crushed moe dee, hammer and ice t's curls" i couldn't believe my ears! :damn:

mr. smith was the last ll cool j album that i thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. i liked the r&b vibe of the majority of the album

it was cool how on this song you had ll the vet showin' he could still hang with the freshman and do his thing.

The Source was a little more than a handful of years old but LL said "Rhymes of the month in The Source for twenty years":russ:

:lupe: maybe he was predicting the future plus boasting about his rhymes that preceded The Source magazine that would have been bestowed with rhyme of the month honors

Female rappers too, I don't give a fukk boo lol

Reminds me of back in school we used to quote this sh*t for kicks. LL bodied this. He catered to the ladies to stay hot but he always kept a hard joint like this to remind you he wasn't to be played with and anybody could still get it. "Female rappers too....I don't give a fukk boo" :yeshrug:

yup, he kept that balance and it showed his range as an artist too.

he laid the ground work for a lot of rappers to do what they do when it comes to that formula
