The Georgia Guidestones is a granite monument erected in 1980 in Elbert County, Georgia, in the United States. A set of 10 guidelines is inscribed on the structure in eight modern languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient language scripts: Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Egyptian hieroglyphs.

The structure is sometimes referred to as an "American Stonehenge".[1] The monument is 19 feet 3 inches (5.87 m) tall, made from six granite slabs weighing 237,746 pounds (107,840 kg) in all.[2] One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

Yoko Ono and others have praised the inscribed messages as "a stirring call to rational thinking", while Wired stated that unspecified opponents have labeled them as the "Ten Commandments of the Antichrist".[2]

The Guidestones have become a subject of interest for conspiracy theorists. One of them, an activist named Mark Dice, demanded that the Guidestones "be smashed into a million pieces, and then the rubble used for a construction project",[10] claiming that the Guidestones are of "a deep Satanic origin", and that R. C. Christian belongs to "a Luciferian secret society" related to the "New World Order".[2] At the unveiling of the monument, a local minister proclaimed that he believed the monument was "for sun worshipers, for cult worship and for devil worship".[6] Others have suggested that the stones were commissioned by theRosicrucians.[11] In this case, the name R. C. would make sense, as the Rose Cross is also referred to as RC.

Computer analyst Van Smith said the monument's dimensions predicted the height of the Burj Khalifa, which opened in Dubai over thirty years after the Georgia Guidestones were designed. Smith said the builders of the Guidestones were likely aware of the Burj Khalifa project which he compared to the biblical Tower of Babel.[12]

The most widely agreed-upon interpretation of the stones is that they describe the basic concepts required to rebuild a devastated civilization.[13] Brad Meltzer argues that the stones were built in 1979 at the height of the Cold War, and may have been intended as a message to the possible survivors of a World War III. The engraved suggestion to keep humanity's population below 500 million could have been made under the assumption that it had already been reduced below this number.[14]

The Georgia Guidestones was featured extensively in the July 2012 Travel Channel episode "Mysteries at the Museum: Monumental Mysteries Special" featuring Don Wildman.[15]

Here's the 10 commandments:
  1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
  2. Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
  3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
  4. Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
  5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
  6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
  7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
  8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
  9. Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
  10. Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.

So what do you all think? Who made it? And do you feel they plan to carry out their plan in any sense?

4.438 billion people in 1980... you would have had to knock off 89-90% of humanity to get down to 500 mill.

89-90% of the world's pop going now would bring you to a bill.

If someone was gonna do it today.. 2 bill as a target would be their best bet.

The Multiverse
Hmm, kinda spooky.

Reminds me of what the silo designers in Hugh Howey's Silo series were going for.

It's weird, but I don't see anything Satanist in what they are saying. A lot of the stuff is logical, but I still think it was built by some religious nuts.

500,000,000 to be in "balance" with nature...thats straight up environmentalist eugenicist bullshyt....first assumption is that humans balance with nature...

:francis: we haven't ever since the agrarian revolution and man stopped being a hunter gatherer.. all other species balance with nature we manipulate it...more lions less zebra but humans more people more chickens

second the 500 mill number is so random and arbitrarily small...all those 500 million people could fit in the state of texas and get one third of an acre each

and WTF is "improving fitness and diversity" in reproduction....wasnt that the same thing Adolf Hitler was trying to do??

the rest sounds like hippie gibberish but those first two are creepy
