The remix album was just as dope. BR 2 left a lot to be desired but still good. Made me go back and check his other stuff and it's all Grade A quality. His iTunes festival album is another banger. Duke is mad consistent

Robert glasper has always incorporated hip hop element in his music. check hs j dilla interlude. He is a great artist and his live shows are dope with casey Benjamin on the talk box singing in place of the various artists from the black radio series.

Agreed. First Black Radio was great and I wasn't feeling the second one at all.

Mr. Porter's Glasper Chops was a great project too.

That's how great Glasper Experiment was/is, it was instantly sample-able:

I tweeted Porter n he said the full version of this song is gonna be on his next album called 9 I think.

Robert has revived a sound that became distant in our demographic. And having the right songs/collabs too - Lupe, Bilal, Mos, Jill etc. It's important to recognise this man, he is bringing back the essence in my opinion

Black Radio 1 is a soundtrack to life piece of music. Gonna Be Alright is my sh*t.

And he's on a couple joints on Kendrick's new record ... Complexion, These Walls (i think), the jazz interlude, end of Blacker The Berry...

Great thread

not only is he great, but the cadre of musicians around him is also great. Chris Dave, Derrick Hodges are insane in the own right

it's between Chris and Karriem Riggins for the title of hip-hop jazz drummer GOAT. Quest is like the Godfather, but these two guys revolutionized the game at a time when it was already at its most experimental and revolutionary. Kinda like freejazz maybe, in that sense:leon:
