So often when it comes to vices, one of the most common phrases people love to throw out is "in moderation"
Eating junk food? That's okay in moderation.
Ordering takeout? That's okay in moderation.
Consuming alcohol? That's okay in moderation.
Some even argue that using hard drugs is okay....in moderation.
But what does it mean to do something "in moderation"??
Because one of the issues I've always had with this phrase is that it's far too ambiguous and leaves the door open for people to justify any behavior they enjoy but know they shouldn't be doing.
Is moderation once a year? Once a month? Only on weekends? Only on holidays?
At what point does something stop being done in moderation and starts becoming regularity? Because at that point the whole concept loses its meaning.
