While alot of your favorite rappers, albeit w/ good flows, talking about the same shyt...

"Maybachs, Bad bytches, fukk the haters, Keys of Coke & catching bodies w/ gripping hammers"...

And then you hear J. Cole's content...

The contrast makes a lot of these artists out here look like they are writing songs for nikkas like George Zimmerman & the Wolf of Wall Street"

"I think I hate nikkas, I'm a nazi" - Def loaf... Who really is this "nikka killing nikka" shyt appealing to when you think about it?

"Got ya bytch tip toeing on my marble floors"... I'm from Fort Greene Brooklyn.. raised in the 90's & now a successful attorney... That marble floors shyt gets me hype...but that's not my experience...that's P. Diddy's son's experience.

I feel hip hop that has confidence, but also isn't afraid to have a human, but not soft, element of vulnerability...

I fukk w/ J. Cole because he seem like a regular dude, spitting shyt a regular dude has experienced.

Im not just talin subject matter

Musicallly he's nothing special

Like his beats are uninspired and bland

His delivery when rappin about "deep" incidents in his life or someone else's comes off uninspired and bland
and he just lacks the emotive element to give his music personality

That's what I mean by nothing special

He's just a guy who raps

And he does it amazingly well doe.. no gimmicks.

Its what seperates good artists from mediocre ones

Cole's lack of an interesting element in his music is not a commendable thing

He's bland, uninteresting musically and yaa...

Yea his biggest selling point is him bein some average nikka

and Jay has done well in marketing him in such a way but his music lacks the things it takes to be great

Cole's music is the manifestation of a guy who grew up with a white momma while being a fan of hip hop

Yet he never lived that struggle so u hear it in his music

Unlike a Kdot who can say and envoke passion through his words

Now this is heart
Now this is power

Until Cole finds that ability...or until he becomes musically talented(he would've benefited from having a legend such as Dennis Graham mentoring him musically ) he will never be great
