Booth been flooded with new and old G-Unit threads lately. Probably because of Banks dropping. Saw some conversations about this and there still this perception that G-Unit ended or damaged the career of the various crews and individuals they beefed with. So my question is, how? We can debate who won the various beef on wax too but this primarily talking about whose career got hurt

Outside Ja, who they crushed, but wasn't a respected artist like that and already on the way out, who they hurt?

D-Block if anything their rep grew and they was the people's champs in this one. Sonned the Unit lyrically too

Game took on the whole crew, shyt on em and outsold every G-Unit project from 2008 forward. And yeah I'm using sales as a measure since that was G-Unit's biggest flex when they was beefing with everyone

Ross had the best run of his career right after 50 said he's gonna fukk up his life for fun

Fat Joe 2005 and 2006 albums right after the beef popped off had two of his biggest hits and outsold his 2002 album and the 2004 TS album that had Lean Back on it

Seen it said they ended Dip Set but that happened for other reasons and G-Unit disintegrated shortly after that too. And Cam made a mockery of 50 with Curtis and the infamous radio call, at minimum this one a draw

G Unit only really did damage to Ja Rule's career.... even then with Ja he came back with an street anthem with the New York song with Fat Joe and Jada and had a hit with R Kelly AFTER the 50 beef.

But its crazy how 50 made the whole Hip Hop fanbase hate Ja Rule in 03, till this day I never see ppl turn on a famous person like that. If Ja Rule ever drops an autobiography I'd love to read the chapter where he discusses this part of his career, had to be taxing mentally.

Outside of Ja Rule and Fat Joe (I'd say the 50 - Fat Joe beef was a draw) G Unit lost eveyr beef they had badly, LOX did G unit far worse than Shady/Aftermath did Murder Inc. Game had GUNOT billboards in Jamaica Queens, 50's hood. LOX and Game was just bombarding G Unit with diss tracks, had me like :picard: at the time.

Game & D-Block broke their armor and it was downhill afterwards. Eminem & Dr. Dre really messed up Ja Rule since all those white fans were adopted by G-Unit fans. But sales started to dwindle with Kanye dropping Graduation and afterwards the last album 50 dropped had him selling 150k or something first week which ended all that sales talk. Even Ross was pushing 500k with his later albums like Teflon Don & God Forgives I Don't. It has been over ever since.

you're blaming Gunit when it was actually 50 cent

and the ja rule goalpost moving was 50 obviously but Eminem played a large part

Yayo and Banks were never huge selling points of "ending people or groups careers"

alot, if not all of the other groups you named have a niche market or cult fanbase
ja rule was 90% pop and white people distanced themselves based on 50 cent being upcoming and huge .... eminem being their ride or die and his quality of music just falling off a cliff in general.

when you're sampling 2pac... copyrighting "grease" ... paying female features like Jlo etc ... and trying to pay for spots and promotion
while a juggernaut like aftermath is rolling over you... you are gonna end up losing way more money than you are making. Murder Inc wasnt even set up that dope to begin with, there was alot of loose ends and Ja Rule was carrying the entire shyt. Financially thats just not gonna hold up.

people blame 50 for alot ... but all he really did was make everyone step their game up or fold... he made shyt way more exciting

Game's diss tracks kinda lost their luster after he wanted to come back to G-Unit.

How u gonna call Fofty a rat and then apologize to him a couple years after the fact?

Rick Ross dissed 50 because he was coming at his homies(Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, and Khaled) and eventually him.

He never retaliated at 50 for having his baby mama go to Mayweather's house only to hug the kid and for Gunplay's chizzain being relinquished from him and having a kid wear the chain in the "Major Distribution" video.

That made Ross look like a sucka my eyes.

Musically Ross survived but as a man, he lost points.

It‘s important to place these beefs in the appropriate era. All the artists you named went into deep hibernation In the immediate aftermath of clashing with Fif

Ja was bludgeoned near to death by 2003 Blood in my eye era.that shyt did nothing. He had a death kick with R U L E the 100 guns 100 clips record and the one with Kells (all features), but anything from 2004- 2015 Jeffrey was Paco Jeans status.

D Block same thing, Honcho Jadakiss went from a number one debut album to not dropping again until like 2010 and it went wood. Him, Styles and Sheek were in yonkers leaning on payphones spitting mixtape bars holding beers in tank tops almost literally up to that gov island concert Where it got squashed.

Crack all u gotta say is the album Elephant in the room was outsold by the troll album Elephant in the sand, largely due to thisis50, which leads to..

Ross was the face of hip hop clownery for a good year babymom smutted on tape, other flewed out, officer Ricky…that whole pimpin curly shyt was a comeback tour from 50 being pumelled by Cam/Ye. He got the Young money stimmy and came back with great music but definitely got silenced for a year.

Game held his own against 50 but snot himself in the foot so many times in his other beefs and bad decisions that 50 decided to let him die of blood loss.

All these dudes are only getting that Golden years love now that they’re living OG’s in the game but they couldn’t move units when 50 was on them.

And let's not forget that many of the beefs they had (apart from Ja, Cam'ron and Rozay) got squashed too.

In a ironic twist 50 and Cam are cool now while him and Jim Ones don't like each other.

The Ross beef was over some rap stuff but it's a wrap since Ross was taunting 50 over having to pay his baby mama plus Ross seems to still diss 50 every time a album comes out.
