The reason he gets disrespected is he plays for the Knicks. The reason the Knicks gets so much hate is the team owner Dolan has an antagonistic relationship with the media. The media returns the favor by shytting on everything NY Knicks.

They got younger and better defensive players and resigned the scoring champ and the 6th man but they are considered a 5th -7th seed. Melo plays for any other team and he'll jump right back into the top 5 players in the league debate on TV.

How exactly is he underrated? Only superstars receive the level of scrutiny that he is currently (and just started I might add) receiving. Nobody questions whether or not he deserves the max (even though he really doesn't if you wanna be all the way real) so again how exactly is he underrated?

I see CP3, Blake, Wade, Bron, Durant, Kyrie all the time

surprised i don't see melo. I can understand why we don't see kobe because of his past or maybe someone like curry or wall because of where they play and the lack of fans. but melo has a clean image and a large fan base. shyt shaq still gets commercials.
