c'mon man put a bmw on the track against a lex jag and telsa and you will see who comes out ahead...bmw's especially m series have been benchmark as far as perfect engineering. Even companies such as Lamborghini has said in the past M sets benchmark in which they choose their cars to achieve when testing on the "ring" in germany....All of these cars especially lex and jag try to put a high horsepower car in the class but handling wise its terrible..point is anyone can build a high horsepower high torque engine but its hard to master a car than is balanced.

well, are you gonna compare like models or are you going to pit a M6 against a ES300?

I'm going to talk about the luxury sport sedan models, as that's what I've posted.

IS350 is beating out a 335i on track as mentioned in the OP.
GS350 has constantly exceeded the BMW 535 and Eclass in comparisons. So what are we talking about speed, engineering, luxury...

if you're talking about PRESTIGE..then you're right traditionally and currenlty German cars have that prestige. I rolled hard in my e-coupe and I've gotten hundreds of "nice cars" or random conversation about the car off the strenght of the emblem...but you know what, as beautiful of a car that it was...shyt was mad uncomfortable and the handling was garbage. The lexus is killing it for me.

overpriced toyota? no thanks breh

as i said above, there's no relation between lexus and toyoto outside of the parent company and maybe a few common small parts (light bulbs/leds). You have no idea what you're talkinga bout.

That's like calling an AUDI an overpriced Volkswagon

I've owned Japanese and German cars and also went to school for mechanical engineering. The Germans take engineering a lot more seriously.

Too bad they're not as adamant about quality control.

By the way, almost every review I've read has the new GS with the best chassis. It's only in the powertrain where it lags behind BMW/Audi. And, from what I've read from the BMW boards regarding their motors leaving folks dead on the street, I think I'd trade a little straight line speed for a car I can trust to keep running everyday and well past its warranty period.

Japanese cars are more reliable, definitely. Their shyt is designed by computers with mathematical precision, they are perfectionists. The germans are innovators though, they have complex designs and try to get the most what available constraints they have. Thats why they are hard to work on and things sometimes break. They give you the best driving experience though.

I would agree like 10 years ago

My mechanic a lot full of BMWs with fukked up engines breh

lexus on the other hand :blessed:

I'm talking the N55. That N54, while tunable, was just a beta test.

The only thing I don't like about BMW nowadays is their artificial steering, and throttle response on their cars seems to suck ass.

everyone is having an engaging discussion about it, because Lexus has seriously caught up...

even BMW homers have admitted that Lexus best the BMW in certain areas

but then there's people like you, who have probably never even driven either car and just talk out your ass.

I never said I own mad nice cars, I've test driven a few in the Luxury sedan/coupe class under $70K and I'm giving my opinion. What have you given? You're like an old man in a rocker...

Hope in the Lexus GS or the new 2014 IS 350 and I bet you won't call it a Toyota or chrylser again. Do you even know what Luxury is?
