Until you realize it kinda is. We get to customize our avatars, we get to choose whether we good or bad, we got different stages and levels in life, we have to grind to get to different stages and levels. We get to gain unique talents and abilities, we gain allies and enemies, We get to pick up where we left off as long as our bodies don't expire, remain intact and our accounts don't get deleted. We got different difficulty levels, glitches (2020/2021) and expansion packs. I'm not saying this a simulation and shouldn't be taken seriously but we should just enjoy the game.

Video games are versions of life, not the other way around.

Video games are based on what we wish life could be or 'what if' lives. Which is why immortality and light consequences are baked into most games.

Skill trees, critical hit systems, story arcs, plot twists, moral alignments these are all based on real life. Extra lives, replayability, multiple endings, the ability to outperform most NPCs, this is all the wishful thinking of man.
