Lifetime announces 'Surviving Jeffrey Epstein' documentary will air this summer

Jeffrey Epstein victims documentary to air on Lifetime summer 2020
PASADENA, Calif. – Lifetime is continuing to investigate allegations of abuse against prominent men with a new documentary about Jeffrey Epstein, the New York financier and accused child sex trafficker.

The network first helped publicize allegations of sexual abuse and assault against R. Kelly in 2019 with "Surviving R. Kelly." The first installment actually aired before the artist was charged with crimes.
Now, the network is expanding the documentary series this summer with "Surviving Jeffrey Epstein," which will give voice to alleged victims of the billionaire who was charged with sex crimes last year before dying of an apparent suicide in custody.
"Epstein" will be a four-hour documentary investigating the New York financier who allegedly used his place in the world of the rich and famous to sexually abuse young girls. Filmmakers Anne Sundberg and Ricki Stern ("The Preppy Murder," "The Devil Came on Horseback") will direct the series
Lifetime has not announced when the series will air or who might participate in interviews.

The fallout from Epstein's arrest and death has been vast.

In 2015, one of Epstein's alleged victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, said in court documents that she was forced by Epstein to have sex with Britain's Prince Andrew and others among his powerful friends, allegations that Andrew and the palace emphatically denied then and in 2019 after Giuffre reiterated her allegations.

ID, a true crime focused network, also announced its own Epstein project this week, "Who Killed Jeffrey Epstein," will launch sometime this year.
