I was only 6 back then, but everything was better. Going out anywhere back then was an adventure because of that. Going to the mall was crazy. Especially the arcades. That was the era of Golden Axe and Altered Beast. Back II the Future II, Do the Right Thing at theatres. Look at all the classic Hip Hop that was new back then he shouting out at the end. :ahh:They don’t even cut hair like that no more. Little man cut is hella icy. :gladbron:

When you are that age during that era, your hometown is like your whole world. Especially for me. Remember that was the year of the 89’ earthquake in the Bay. It felt like the whole world revolved around the Bay at that time. Hammer, En Vogue, Digital Underground and later Pac, Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, the 9ers, the A’s, the Giants.

That the right there was a cultural golden era save the pandemonium caused by the crack epidemic. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Even Gen Z low key know that era was goat by trying to bring back the aesthetics (i.e. Jordan 4’s). Glad to have lived through it.

Life was so much freer and happier back then. I really hate what the world has devolved to. It’s turned into a dystopian nightmare of thought policing, constant surveillance and hyper consumerism.

Orwell was a genius whose writing was chillingly prophetic. Not even he could have imagined that the totalitarianism 1984 warned its readers of would come by way of an iPhone and a Louis Vuitton bag.
