Folks are something else. What about all the people that never had to see the inside of a jail cell to make it ? Or is it not “ becoming successful” if it’s not success gained from hoodlum/ hoodrat activities ? Durk, will always have to watch his back because that life catches up with you and .. so does the reaper. Priorities.

Good for them. What you and other people need to take away from any amount of success durk or any other person that saw the inside of a jail cell may have is that you can make something of yourself, you can do something and generate income. Just because you go to jail or are a fukkhead isn't an excuse to not work or do something with your life. There too many cacs that think once a person goes to jail they might as well be killed because for whatever the crime is they don't need to be in the world, yet when it comes to their own there's plenty of redemption stories.

Cool. I’m not talking about what cac’s think right now. I’m talking about what is seen as successful by so many in our community. It’s great that Durk, is “ successful “ but his definition, my definition, and your definition.. probably not the same. I’ll never down a man .. especially a black man getting it together .. but you seem to be a fan … has he gotten it together ?

I've never heard dude rap. My brother has been a reintervention specialist for going on 20 years. I work with people go have gone to jail or are narrowly avoiding jail.

There are so many that have defeated mentality "I'm a felon, I can't get a job" "I used drugs and have drug charges I can't get a job" "there's no use learning a trade or going to college cause I'll never get work."

It's bullshyt. There's so many opportunities. And not just working minimum wage. But there are politicians as well as regular people that feel once someone has gone to jail that they should be written off. That is until it's someone in their family or someone who could afford to have their record expunged.

Durk might be a fukkhead, I can't say for sure cause I've never watched a video or heard a song. If he's been locked up and is using/promoting drugs and guns and the criminal shyt that got him locked 15+ times then yeah he's a certified idiot. But being an idiot isn't an excuse for being lazy and not doing something for yourself or having a job, skill, trade, something that generates income. If he's getting paid off the rap shyt, good for him. If he falls off from rap hopefully he can find another legal route like managing or owning a recording studio or flipping houses, owning a restaurant or some shyt.

My definition of success is generating legal income in a society created to put you in debt and enslave you. And finding a way to be you in a way that not just allows you to keep your head above water but swim or fly.

Hopefully dude ain't concerned about his lights being cut off or cars being repo'd not because he doesn't care but because the money is there. Hopefully his kids or parents are taken care of. That's success.

1 time in jail and becoming successful is a cool redemption story and shows that rehabilitation, which is what jail should be for in MOST (but not all) scenarios, works.

2 times is the same but kind of strange.

15 times is insane.

I think he may have just committed a crime in 2019 or 20 ( not sure) I could be wrong but his co defendant is dead . He’s still out here dissing his dead “opps” .. I agree with everything you said in this point but I continue to stand on what I said. Folks need someone else to respect/ look up to.
