this is real breh

People seriously downplay Wayne's impact on the game. I mean this man had not only two classic albums back to back (C2 + C3) but the greatest mixtape run of all time. He basically birthed all these young nikkas that came up in the mixtape game.

Its cause these kids prob got into hip-hop once they heard WTT for the first time or somethin. If you were in high school during prime Wayne you'd know EVERYONE was fukking with him, he was untouchable.
c3 was a classic :mjlol:

I'm a 91 baby and remember full well when Wayne blew up with C1 and C2. When you are 13-15 early high school years music has a massive influence on your life
:heh: now he Blew up with carter1? :laff: go dj was a moderately successful single and it didnt crack top 10 on the charts..it remained his biggest single until lollipop. none of his c2 singles even cracked the top 30.

Wayne said himself that he blew up after the Destiny's Child "Solider" record, along with TIP

This thread is the definition of nostalgia. People talking about "Wayne was the biggest rapper in the world when C1 dropped, I should know everyone at my high school knew all the words!" :mjlol:

I'm not a Wayne stan, but on some real shyt for a decade since the release of Tha Carter he's been one of the most popular MC's in the game. He had a definitive peak ('06-'09, 11) that is almost incomparable, only a few rappers have achieved what he did. His run could be higher if he didn't release so much trash to go along with his good stuff.

Like a poster above said people knew the words to entire Wayne freestyles, their were legitimate conversations in '07 on message boards and in real life calling Wayne the greatest rapper of All-Time. I always though they were ridiculous conversations but people were dead ass serious. The hype behind Tha Carter III was huge, so many leaks and bootlegs.

Wayne dominated features, all his mixtapes were going Diamond on DatPiff, all his major albums went multi-Platinum and his side projects went Gold, his single dominated the charts. He was doing songs going cross genre and cross languages doing tracks with guys like Enrique Iglesias and Romeo Santos.

:whew: thats exactly wtf i'm sayin! his work ethic is unmatched....yeah if u put out a million songs, your gonna miss, but waynes got CLASSICS lets stop w the bullshyt!!
:what:@ some of the shyt being said in here.I'm not the biggest wayne fan in the world but saying his run began in 08 is flat out wrong. The Carter II,Dedication II,Lil weezyana and the drought 3 had the streets on lock.Females were out here quoting mixtape songs like "Workin em" word for word. That blow mixtape was fire and "i can't feel my face was one of the most anticipated projects during that time. You think that was because of elz?Maybe 2008 was when suburban white kids started to notice him but wayne been had the hood.Hell, the carter III was when nikkas started to look at wayne sideways and may be the start of his true decline in the hood(Gucci took his spot). If you think otherwise you're either weren't in the streets like that or just blindly hating.

Amen...you're right, to me the carter 3 was when wayne started dippin, it had nothing on carter 1/2 which are bonafide classics

Weezy was the hottest rapper in the game in 2007. He didn't even drop an album...but MTV made him No. 1.

nikkas bumped drought 3 and those C3 leaks more than other nikkas....albums.
