there is no denying this. He has been in the game 20 years now, and has been consistent and relevant the entire time. Hate him or love him - he is one of the Greatest to ever pick up a microphone!

He at one point or another in his career was at the top of the game in the underground, mainstream and mixtape circuit. He is EASILY 1 of the most influential figures in hiphop history. His influence and style is sprinkled all over the rap game currently from, Drake, to Young Thugg to Future.

His mixtape/mainstream run from like 06-2010 will probably never be matched in hiphop again.

It's debatable.

One more solid project I think would make it a more reasonable claim. Wayne's a beast but he has lots of missteps (Rebirth? :scust:)

Top 10 rapper? Maybe, if we're just talking about pioneers of hip hop AS A WHOLE, then yeah I can it. But if we're talking top 10 based on rapping, Wayne is nowhere near it.

his depth isnt to be taken lightly

nor are his concept songs

he really did that for New Orleans ... a place with little to no hope for mainstream success

Not top 10 in anything except mix tapes probably but even then he probably has such a bad ratio of good to bad tapes he would drop out
