Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.
UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.
Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.
This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

@713Capital
Why do CEOs need to make so much money? Why is it structured this way? What person needs 24 million for running a company lol. That shyt is all backwards

@gatzyxx
Okay, that’s today’s update..

@Tim_Sweeney_TAR
Your right it's rigged
You teach 1 class and make about 250k
And how much per speech? 40k? More?

think of all the people whose lives would be so much better if we taxed the rich at the same rate we are taxed..it's infuriating

@agreatertruth
But please do continue telling us that the problem is immigrants, or women, minorities and gays having the audcacity to be employed (affectionately known as DEI).
It is corruption, pure and simple. Yet we allow them to keep us pointing the finger at each other.

Trump should invite Bezos to the MBS celebration at the WH. He could ride share with his neighbor Jared. Maybe he could ask why MBS had his employee, Jamal Khashoggi, lured, kidnapped, tortured, murdered and dismembered.

Reagan started the rigging by legalizing stock buybacks - that's when CEO compensation took off.

@BruceDankmyer
How much more do profs like you make compared to your TAs. Are they earning a livable wage or eating Ramen?
12/34
@rosewdc
This has to be the most illogical post ever posted. What do layoffs have to do with CEO pay? The workers are no longer needed. AI and automation probably accounts for most of the layoffs.
Hey grandpa, it is not the 19th century. Things are changing. Marxist class warfare no longer applies.
13/34
@JasonBrown10951
So is your opinion that once hired always hired? Is your opinion that a company cannot hire when the need is there and then terminate when the need is not? I’m confused what your point is with this post. Or is it just pure class warfare? Is it just to divide?

Reich thinks a job is supposed to be an entitlement, like a welfare check. No, IT'S A JOB. Get a new one. Walmart is hiring. So is Burger King.

@danrich66
Rigged is an understatement. I think capitalists (business owners) started corrupting everything within the first year of this country's birth.

@JamesWitmer6
What does one have to do with the other?

@tome0806
How many have you laid off? Oh wait ... like all Marxists, you've never created anything.
18/34
@NathanAMeeks
I don't see your point...
40,000,000/14,000 is only $2857... that's a pretty crap yearly salary if we gave it all to the laid off at Amazon.
24,000,000/48,000 UPS is even worse... only $500/yr per person.
69,000,000/20,000 Intel did $3450 per person per year...
You're also neglecting how much money those CEOS invested in their companies to put skin in the game.

Yes the people who produce things and advance humanity are the problem. It's certainly not the grift and graft of people like Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.

Let's be clear --- Rule 68 or is it 74 with the StockMarket:
If you cut LABOR COSTS ==> Profits ==> Bonus
If you improve product quality or protect environment ==> hurts profits ==> Penalty to CEO's income

Look at the layoffs happening at all the Communist donating companies owned by billionaires.
• Meta (Mark Zuckerberg): 24,600 layoffs
• Amazon (Jeff Bezos): 41,100 layoffs
• Alphabet/Google (Larry Page/Sergey Brin): 14,000 layoffs
• Microsoft (Bill Gates/Steve Ballmer): 42,900 layoffs
• Salesforce (Marc Benioff): 8,350 layoffs
• Asana (Dustin Moskovitz): 150 layoffs
• Workday (Aneel Bhusri): 525

They are for profit companies, they have the power to hire or fire employees, and CEO salaries are set by the board and shareholders.
But I am more interested in “non profits”. Like these. Making close to one million dollars running a park.

Cuts to healthcare, food & housing assistance & so much more because giving tax cuts to billionaires & their companies somehow helps everyone. Instead these companies layoff thousands & raise their prices. Benefiting only the billionaires & politicians they’re paying

All of those business make money. They make a lot of money.
The US loses 2 trillion a year, and never fires anyone. Inept leadership is rewarded.
The system sucks.

Billionaires contribute nothing compared to the people whose labor built their fortunes. It’s time to reclaim the wealth created by the many and put it back into our communities. Don’t fall for the myth that one person deserves what was built on our backs.

@MickHamster
I remember when we used to have a cap on the percentage that the highest paid person could make compared to the lowest paid person. I was wondering if we could actually just re-implement that

@real_dr_mudgil
Not sure what one thing has to do with the other. The efficiencies of AI, etc., have decreased significantly the reliance on manpower. Are these companies to be faulted for streamlining their processes, maximizing efficiency, operating leaner, and thus maximizing profitability?

@Josephn78885097
Bob because Mr or Mrs ceo made 40 mil that does not make the company obligated to keep employees it does not need.
Please explain to us all how in your mind that computes and makes sense.
Let’s do it this way bob…
You are the ceo. You made 40 mil.
Your company does not need 48k employees for whatever reason. So you lay them them off.
If several envious retarded tools like yourself jump on X and demand the “millionaires and billionaires pay their fare share”
What would you consider “their share” of YOUR 40 million to be bob?
Asking for a friend bob.

@SteveBerrier
If you were CEO of Amazon there would be no layoffs and you would only make $87K per year.
