Roxana Guevara survived after being grabbed by the throat and thrown around by the beast after entering its cage to act as volunteer during a supervised show. This is the moment a teacher cheated death in front of her pupils after being attacked by a lion when she entered its cage as a volunteer. The animal leapt on Roxana Guevara and tossed her around like a rag doll at a circus in the Peruvian city of Cuzco. Miraculously, she managed to get up and stagger to safety after it freed her from its jaws as the lion tamer chased it around the cage, trying to beat it with a stick. Roxana, who had taken her pupils along to watch the show, suffered severe scratches to her neck and chest. Speaking from her hospital bed, Roxana relived her terrifying ordeal. Ironically, she said volunteered to demonstrate the lion wasn’t aggressive. She added: “The lion tamer told me, ‘Don’t be afraid, we’ve done this before and it’s very docile.’ “It crushed my back when it jumped on top of me. I couldn’t do anything. It grabbed my throat with its claws. I thought I was going to die.” The animal, called Smith, was one of three lions later taken away from the circus along with a monkey following the launch of a police investigation. Circus bosses are said to have broken a law banning the use of wild animals which was introduced in July 2011. Officials say they will now look for new more appropriate homes for them.

This video is going viral this morning, and even knowing that the video captures an animal attack when you press play, it is extremely graphic and tough to watch. First off, I put a lot of the blame here on the lion trainer, because he picked a volunteer with a red shirt for this demonstration. It is a known fact that the color red makes lions, as well as many other animals, more aggressive and triggers a predatory response in their brains. Secondly this teacher is extremely lucky to just have suffered scratches to her neck and chest, after watching this video multiple times, I would say that she is lucky to be alive. The lion seemed to have her by the head and neck, the same way it would bring down a gazelle or zebra on the African plains, and if the lion punctured an artery in her neck it would have been curtains. You really see the raw power of the lion, as it easily drags the teacher around like a rag doll, even as the lion trainer is beating it with a stick. It’s a tough video to watch, and I’m shocked the teacher survived, the moral of the story is never enter the cage of a predatory animal (or any animal) under any circumstances.

Talk about karma, it's just like that time when that FBI guy went to a school to promote gun safety and shot himself in the leg by accident.:mjlol:
